Deforestation is the clearing of Earth’s trees on a massive scale.  The clearing of so many trees damages the quality of the land and since about 30% of the Earth is covered with trees, can greatly impact the environment. Deforestation has many negative effects on the environment. The most dramatic impact is a loss of habitat for millions of species.
